Welcome to the November 2025 news update for WARSURGE.

The latest app update is now live. Here are the combined patch notes from v1.9.20 to v1.9.22:

-WARSURGE App v1.9.20-

The next WARSURGE app update is now live on Google Play and Apple Store. If your device does not download it automatically, you can go to the app store and update it manually.

General Changes:

HP costs have been adjusted.

New Perks:

Inexorable (Movement): Unit cannot be locked in a Melee against cheaper Units

Hefty: Battle (Aeonian): Battle Weapons ignore Melee Dice Penalties

Hefty: Heavy (Aeonian): Heavy Weapons ignore Melee Dice Penalties

Buoyant (Movement): Unit treats water terrain as normal ground, but normal ground becomes Impassable

Black Powder (Weapon Affliction)

Smoke (Weapon Affliction)

Perk Changes/Fixes:

Increased cost to Healer and Engineer (all ranks)

Increased cost of Pacifist

Increased cost of Reliable

Increased cost of Recharge II and III

Posthumous now clashes with Pain Locked

Decreased cost of Smoke Cover

Cure - Line added that it does not remove Smoke or Black Powder

Purge - Line added that it can remove Smoke

No Line of Sight - Line added that the half Range effect of Smoke and Black Powder is ignored

‘Stat Change’ Term - New line added: Unit Perks that affect Weapon Power do not apply if the Weapon’s Power is 0

Other Notes:

• (FIXED in v1.9.21) There were some bugs with lists not updating point values while building Weapons, Rosters and also in Play.

• (FIXED in v1.9.22, tweaks still needed for iOS) Auto Save pop up was not visible in a number of places, giving the appearance of the app being frozen.

• Some devices may have issues with producing a number of Weapon Profiles during a session, where saving may cause the app the crash. We are looking into this.

Fixed bugs with lists not updating point values while building Weapons, Rosters and also in Play.

-WARSURGE App Update 1.9.22-

• Prevent button double presses.

• Improved Auto Backup (still needs tweaking for iOS users).

• Improved Manual Backup.

• Other minor improvements.

In addition, there is a new QR code source listed in the ‘Import’ tab (under Units in the main menu). Coming soon in the next App update is the ability to import multiple weapons from an Armoury into a Unit at once, and to import multiple Units at once from a Faction into a Roster. We also have an adjustment to auto save coming for iOS users.

We are testing some new ‘Casual Rules’ which will work well with introducing new players or just having an ‘easy-going’ game with simpler mechanics and attack dice formula. They currently fit on two pages, and will be added to the free rules section of the website when they are ready.

We are preparing to introduce Artificial Opponent (AO) rules. Similar to adding a ‘bot’ in strategy computer games, these rules allow players to assign behaviours to Units and a new Roster Perk to officially consider it to not be a player-controlled force. In a nutshell, players will assign behaviours (which can be noted in Lore in the app) for each phase, and what priority they are for being re-used in Advanced Games. The ‘Artificial Opponent’ Roster Perk will make the AO roster become cheaper, adding a further challenge to compensate for the freedom and instinct that players possess.

The WARSURGE Ambassador system is planned for release in early December. Here players can sign up and be rewarded for posting on Reddit. To briefly recap, the goal of the Ambassador system is to encourage players to share their Warsurge battles and hobby content on Reddit. The Ambassador Reward shop will have a variety of goods you can purchase such as Lifetime App vouchers, Digital Rulebooks, official STLs and some items belonging to affiliates, along with exclusive rewards (and we’re also looking at shop e-vouchers!). If you want to start getting ready for being a Warsurge Ambassador, then make a Reddit account and start building up ‘karma’ so you can post in various subreddits: https://www.reddit.com/

As mentioned last month, after the Ambassador Program is launched we are going to launch a scoreboard for bounties. The goal is to complete a bounty with less points than what is recommended in the bounty itself, with very low point limits getting registered (similar to the top score on an arcade game, or a time for speedrunning a game). More details will be announced later.

The Biker Rats are this month's Bounty. Rumoured to be from the planet mars; fled from a great war against bicycle mice. This gang has since infested a city suburb and cast out the locals that they seized it from. There is now an outcry for their extermination.
