Welcome to the September 2024 news update for WARSURGE.
There is a new gameplay feature beginning this month: ‘Bounties’. These are like mini solo/co-op narrative missions where you must defeat an enemy that costs considerably more points than what you’ve been granted. There are also some optional challenges known as ‘awards’ to complete, which may take multiple attempts to complete and will encourage players to craft some specialist units. We aim to release a new Bounty each month, so suit up and get hunting; the Rabid Chimera is the first quarry!
Bounties are downloadable on the WARSURGE Website, and we will also post on social media (and also in a Bounties channel on Discord).
The Intermediate Battle Report is still being worked on. Compared to the Standard and Advanced games, there’s a new visual approach to the cameras that is being experimented on while editing.
For those in Melbourne (Australia) in November, you can check out our stall at MEGA at the Kensington Town Hall. MEGA is an event for tabletop gaming and modelling enthusiasts, which will be on Saturday 16th of November from 10am to 6pm. There are tickets available from their website ($10) or at the door ($20), and there is a special deal that kids under 16 can go for $1. You can check out the website below:
In the app department, we have released an update that has tweaked several perks and added Bounties to the Journal, but no new perks at this time. If your device doesn’t download the update automatically, you can go to the app store and download it manually.

- Perk display changes: A number of profile areas now display Perks alphabetically
- Bounty option for Game Type now available in Journal
Perk Changes/Fixes:
- Increased cost of Reanimate and Revive (all ranks)
- Increased cost to Healer and Engineer (all ranks)
- Increased cost of Mastery
- Increased cost of Reliable
- Increased cost of Skill
- Increased cost of Stalwart and Steadfast
- Increased cost of Heat Resist I & II, Immunity I & II and Unstoppable
- Increased discount on Combat Damage I and II
- Decreased discount to Pusillanimous, Panic and Morale II
- Decreased Cybernetic to cost nothing
- Decreased Chill and Shattered Cost
- Changed Shatter description to: “The Weapon inflicts double HP Loss against Targets suffering the effects of Chill, Freeze and/or Solidify. If the Shatter Weapon applies Chill, Freeze and/or Solidify successfully, HP Loss is doubled immediately."
Free (non-Subscribed) Changes:
- Factions = Unlimited
- Armouries = Unlimited
- Units in each Faction = Unlimited
- Weapons in each Armoury = Unlimited
Though most players have no issues with updates, we recommend that players do a backup and keep their code handy just in case.
The next STL models are still being worked on, which are Peacekeepers. We hope for these to be available late September, or early October.
