April 2021 News

Welcome to the April 2021 news update for WARSURGE. Our first 1 minute Battle Report, featuring the Banebrood (Megalith Games) and Legionaries (Scibor Miniatures), was uploaded recently to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. If you’re short on time, it might be a refreshing way to get a quick fix of wargaming. You can watch it here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_3pfCRFOLrI

In the App department, the ‘Journal’ system is estimated to be 2-3 weeks before being available with the next version update of the app. The Journal is where you’ll be able to keep a record of the games you’ve played and make notes of what happened (your own battle reports). The journal will keep a tally of various statistics too, such as the number of victories and defeats among other data. In the next update, there will also be a number of adjustments to perks and clarifications which will be mentioned in the patch notes. After the journal feature is complete, a new Warsurge product will commence development, estimated to be available in 1-2 months. The new product is a free version of the Warsurge companion app, which will allow players to use the app for free, but with some features disabled. These features can be unlocked for a very small fee (estimating $1-2 per month, details of subscription options are being discussed), which unlocks it to be the full version while the subscription is active. The existing version of Warsurge, currently available in app stores, will be known as WARSURGE LIFETIME. After this product is complete, work will begin on a new feature: to export rosters for printing (PDF file). In other news, ‘print friendly’ rules are in development. As you might guess, this will be the existing rulebooks optimised for printing with paper. The only coloured images remaining will be instructional pictures and diagrams, but otherwise many non-essential pictures will be substituted, or removed. When available, there will be an announcement. The next Narrative mission, ‘Boss Rush #1’ will launch with the next update of the app and rulebook. In this Narrative, you create a hero that will fight a series of ‘boss’ style encounters. The next Narrative being worked on is intended as a cooperative, but will still allow single player. There will be some exciting news alongside the launch of the following narrative, more details soon! In the photo are miniatures by Avatars of War. The Gaming Mat is by Deep-Cut Studio. The buildings are from Zealot Miniatures by Tabletop World. Stay tuned for more news and updates! - Richard
